The Backyard – BIGFOOT Open House Ruled
Hey everybody, Happy Friday and welcome to The Backyard!
Last weekend BIGFOOT 4×4 held their 50th Anniversary Open House at their store in Pacific, MO, and it was an absolute blast.
There was motion in all places. An insane quantity of full scale monster vans confirmed up, whether or not it was trendy race vans (varied BIGFOOT vans, High Roller, and Gunslinger), or traditional iron (varied retired BIGFOOT vans had been readily available, in varied states of restoration, in addition to different old fashioned monsters).
It was a really muddy day, with intermittent rain happening, however that didn’t cease the vans from placing on a present within the mud! I’m soooo glad I didn’t have to assist clean-up the vans afterwards. Power washers had been doing work, little doubt!
The grounds had been completely crawling with monster truck business legends as nicely. You had a big assortment of BIGFOOT alumni readily available as is normally the case, however varied different all-time greats might be discovered mulling about resembling Gary Porter, Army Armstrong, and Mike Welch, simply to call just a few!
Traxxas had an r/c demonstration space and had been promoting a restricted version fiftieth Anniversary 1/10 BIGFOOT that seemed very cool.
Most of my day was spent behind the mic and on-track serving to Trigger King R/C placed on their annual strong axle monster truck race. I imagine that is the eleventh straight Open House we’ve held an r/c race at, and I feel that it’s most likely my favourite. Well, okay, second favourite. The first one we did back in 2014, which launched Trigger King, will all the time maintain a particular place in my coronary heart.
The Open House r/c race is a singular sort of factor, as a result of time is of the essence. The occasion goes from 10AM to 3PM and we run a Show-N-Shine competitors earlier than the on-track stuff, adopted by 3 monster truck racing courses, Retro, Sport Mod, and Pro Mod, together with Freestyle on the finish…so issues should occur quick. One of the methods we do that is by limiting entries to 1 per individual, per class. Despite that restrict, we had over 100 entries unfold throughout the three courses, making this the most important car rely we’ve ever had for this occasion! We had drivers from as far east as New Jersey, as far south as Florida and Texas, and as far west as California.
Everyone was on their recreation, and the day went clean and we ended on time.
The winners of the occasion had been: Show-N-Shine- Jeremy Bunting : Retro Clod Buster – Jason Ruona : Sport Modified – Cody Ingram : Pro Modified – Scott Harp
For a beautiful photograph recap of the occasion in addition to the Scale Giants Hotel Bash that occurred the night time earlier than Open House, try the JConcepts album here.
Special due to JConcepts for his or her help of the occasion, the various r/c drivers that attended and pitched in to assist, and your entire BIGFOOT 4×4 crew for having us out!
If you’ve by no means attended a BIGFOOT Open House earlier than, you must put it in your checklist!
OK, that’s it for me this week- till subsequent time, maintain it on all 4’s!
