Monster Truck Madness – Plans for the Max Smasher Heya folks and Happy Friday to you! I hope ya’ll enjoyed both the written and video reviews of the FMS Max Smasher Monster Truck that were posted last week. Long story short- I enjoy the Max Smasher. I’m kind of surprised it’s taken a company this long to do a quality micro scale solid axle monster, but one now exists. And it does feel like a monster truck, albeit one on a very small scale. I do specify the “very small scale” part because it does feel a bit odd driving…

(Pocket-lint) – DJI has taken a giant leap into creating the perfect pro-level consumer drone, and has officially announced the all-new Mavic 3. And, as far as performance and specs go, this one’s an absolute monster.  It represents a huge upgrade over the Mavic 2 series, particularly when it comes to videography/photography and battery life. It starts with an all-new camera arrangement.  The dual-camera Hasselblad system features a primary camera with a 20-megapixel 4/3 CMOS sensor, the largest it’s ever put on a Mavic drone. It’s joined by an additional zoom camera to offer up to 28x hybrid zoom. That…

(Pocket-lint) – Drone photography has soared in recent years, with the number of and quality of drone photos increasing every year. There are so many photos in fact that drone photography even has its own official awards programmes. Now that most new drones come equipped with high-quality cameras capable of capturing great shots and videos the images are only getting better and better. We say easier but that’s not to say it’s a walk in the park.  We’ve compiled some of the best photos we’ve seen as well as plenty more from Dronestagram and the Skypixel photo contest to show off…

(Pocket-lint) – The DJI Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine launched back in November but at the time, the drones were missing some features that had been promised. We imagine this was most likely due to rushing the drones out in time for Christmas. Nevertheless, true to its word DJI has released new firmware that brings the promised features. Both the aircraft and the remote controller will require an update that can be installed via the DJI Fly app on Android or iOS. Here’s what the latest firmware brings: Best drones 2022: Beginner and advanced options to shoot 4K video…

(Pocket-lint) – We’ve seen before just how impressive drone photographs can be. There are more and more drones available now, many of which are more than capable of capturing incredible footage.  Drone photographers though, need more than the right equipment, the ability to fly and a knowledge of the regulations. They also need an eye for a great photo.   Drones can be used for capturing all kinds of aerial images shot from above are often impressive. At the right angle though, sometimes they can look like a work of abstract art more than a simple snap of our world.  Mike…

(Pocket-lint) – There’s nothing particularly professional about DJI’s Mini drones. They’re typically designed for consumers who want to dip their toes into aerial photography – but a new leak suggests a Pro variant could be on the way. Notorious DJI leaker OsitaLV posted an image on Twitter that shows what appears to be the box of a DJI Mini 3 Pro, though he doesn’t seem too confident in its legitimacy. Before further confirmation, I’ll regard this pic as joking. pic.twitter.com/En7LIBv1jf — OsitaLV (@OsitaLV) March 1, 2022 On the other hand, Jasper Ellens, who previously leaked the specs of the Mavic…

With the advent of 3D printing, there are a plethora of printers that can be purchased. Because of the number of printers to choose from, it can be a daunting task to pick the right one for your application. For a few years I have been using 3D printing and design for my RC aircraft, mostly designing and printing small new or redesigned parts. I wanted a larger build platform, and chose the Creality3D CR-10S Pro 3D printer, a 300 x 300 x 400mm build platform. Its tall build area lets you design and print larger pieces, like wings and…

(Pocket-lint) – The drone market has a heck of a lot of great value options right now, but it’s fair to say that an outsized proportion of them come from DJI alone. Digital Camera Info has spotted a patent application filed this week by Canon that looks to all intents and purposes like a drone, one with landing apparatus that fold away once it’s airborne. The main camera unit looks a lot like the already existing Canon Powershot Pick, a mounted camera that can follow people around automatically, so it could be using that device’s panning and other automatic features…
