Monster Truck Madness – Rolling on 73’s
Greetings all and Happy Thursday!
The International Monster Truck Museum and Hall of Fame in Butler, IN held it’s annual induction ceremony over the previous weekend. This is among the most necessary occasions on the total scale monster truck calendar. JConcepts is a proud sponsor of the HOF, they usually often tease a brand new r/c monster truck product whereas in attendance, and the 2023 occasion was no totally different!
JConcepts is about to launch the Golden 73 tire and Tribute 73 wheel, and several other staff driver rigs had been on-hand on the museum sporting them.
One of these vehicles was constructed by my longtime pal Travis Sutton of Sutton Motorsports & Machine– the JConcepts Giant. This kind of construct is the right factor to indicate off the brand new Golden 73’s. Before attending to the duplicate, let’s speak concerning the new tires.
While 66″ terra tires had been and are the norm for monster vehicles, again within the late 80’s when “show” was as necessary as “go”, a number of house owners determined to outfit their rigs with extra-monsterous 73″ sized flotation tires. This gave the vehicles an much more outlandish and aggressive look. Some of probably the most well-known examples of this look had been Samson, Godzilla, Casper, amongst numerous others. The JConcepts 73 sequence wheels/tires are supposed to pay tribute to this leviathan-esque look.
One of probably the most iconic golden age monster vehicles was the Duraliner Giant. Sponsored by the Duraliner truck bedliner firm, the Giant sported 73″ tires and an engine that was mounted very excessive, making the truck look even bigger than it was.
This well-known automobile is what Travis is paying homage to in his construct.
Outside of the aforementioned new JConcepts Wheels and Tires, this tradition constructed monster truck includes a Sutton Motorsports & Machine designed chassis, Tamiya TXT/Juggernaut axles, Juggernaut leafs, (Tamiya, PLEASE re-release the Juggernaut!!!!), RC4WD SCS Transfer Case, Tekin FXR ESC, Holmes 15t Motor, twin Savox 1258 servos, and an entire lotta pink paint. Sitting atop the deal is a JConcepts 84″ Ford F-250 physique that Travis airbrushed, together with a JConcepts scale consumption package that’s been modified to simply accept an RPM blower.
It’s an actual stunner. Thanks to Travis for sharing the construct pics off!
The JConcepts 73’s haven’t, as of this writing, been formally introduced however that must be VERY quickly.
Until subsequent time, maintain it on all 4’s!
